Army Day on August 1st
Taking place on August 1st, the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army aims to commemorate the Nanchang Uprising that took place on August 1st, 1927. After this uprising, the Chinese Communist Party established their own army. Moreover, the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, consisting of 25 members including Soong Ching-ling, Zhou Enlai, He Long, Ye Ting and Zhu De, approved Declarations of the August 1st Uprising . This included revolutionary slogans and platforms of "Fighting imperialism", "Fighting the new and old warlords", and "Carrying out land-to-the-tiller policy", etc. This symbolized the start of the Chinese Communist Party independently building its revolutionary army, and the lead-up to revolutionary wars.

Army Day in China

The People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China was founded on August 1, 1927. This day is an important holiday for the Chinese, that is known in the country as Army Day. The Communist Party of China founded the People's Liberation Army on August 1 during the Nanchang Uprising. The army was called at that time as the Chinese Worker's and Peasant’s Red Army. Another simplified name, Red Army, became widespread. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China established Red Army Day in 1933. In 1946 the army was renamed to The People's Liberation Army. Army Day in China is a professional holiday for those men, who serve in the People's Liberation Army. This is an official working holiday for everyone, but the servicemen have a shorter working hours. Military parades are sometimes organized to celebrate Army Day (that is also known as Armed Forces Day), but this is not traditional way of celebration of this professional holiday.

Army's Day (August 1) A communist-led nationalist army staged the first armed uprising in Chinese communist history against the Nationalists on August 1, 1927. It was regarded as the beginning of the Red Army (later the People's Liberation Army). Now the anniversary is often used to promote better relationships between the army and civilians, a tradition believed to have helped it beat the Nationalists during the civil war in 1949. It is not a paid-leave day.
