Li Siguang Geological Scientific Prize
The Li Siguang Geological Scientific Prize is the highest scientific prize which is awarded to the workers who make great progress in developing geological science and motherland modernization construction. The prizes include the open country geologist prize, geological science researcher prize, geological teacher prize and honorary award. The prizes are awarded every two years. There are less than 15 total prize-winners apart from the honorary award, and one person can only win the prize once in a lifetime and it is lifelong honor.

13th Li Siguang Geological Science Award Ceremony Held in Beijing on the afternoon of Jan. 13. Jiang Daming, Minister of Land and Resources, China, National land chief inspector, Committee Director of LiSiguang Geological Science Award, attended the meeting to award for the winners and delivered a speech. He emphasized that we should vigorously carry forward the spirit of Li Siguang, to accelerate the progress of geological technology, make new larger contribution for the economic and social development of the new period and the construction of ecological civilization. Ms. Shou Jiahua, vice director of LiSiguang Geological Science Award, former vice minister of Land and Resources, Cai Xiyuan, vice director of LiSiguang Geological Science Award, chief geologist of China Petroleum Chemical Co., Ltd., Fang Xin, deputy secretary of Chinese Academy of Science, Zhang Shaonong, vice minister of Land and Resources, Zhang Hongtao, foundation chairman of Li Siguang Geological Science Award, vice director of LiSiguang Geological Science Award, counselor of the State Council attended the meeting and awarded for the winners. Zhong Ziran, chief engineer，Ministry of Land and Resources, China presided over the meeting.

Since 2000, CNNC has won six first and second prizes among the National Awards for Science & Technology Progress and 153 provincial and ministerial prizes; five of its scientific achievements have been rated among the “Ten Geological Science & Technology Progresses” of the Geological Society of China and another five among the “Ten Geological Prospecting Achievements” of that society. Moreover, its unmanned airborne geophysical prospecting station has received multiple honors. Five of its scientists received the “Li Siguang Geological Science Award” and three won the “Huang Jiqing Youth Geological Science & Technology Award”.

Chengdu University of Technology boasts a qualified and experienced team of faculty with 2200 full-time teachers, including 215 professors and 456 associate professors. 20 professors are awarded the State Council Special Allowance, and 20 professors are academic and technical leaders of Sichuan Province. 1 professor is granted the title of National Outstanding Teacher and 6 professors the title of Provincial Outstanding Teachers. 1 professor is granted the titleof National Outstanding Professional Talent and 2 professors the title of National Young and Mid-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution. 1 professor is awarded National College Young Teacher Prize, 4 professors Li Siguang Geology Science Award. 2 professors received Huang Jiqing Youth Geology Science and Technology Award, and 3 professors Chinese Youth Science and Technology Award.
