XiangYanghong X
XiangYanghong X is the first 10-kiloton ocean scientific research ship designed by China itself and put into use in November 1979. The ship joined the first launcher, synchronization relay satellite and other important scientific experimental tasks, and went to Antarctica to perform scientific investigation in November 1984. The new XiangYanghong X kept  working in the National Oceanographic Research Team in March 2014.

Xiangyanghong 10 was a large-sized oceangoing vessel for comprehensive scientificresearch. The main technical indexes of the ship were as follows. Length: 156.09 m. Moulded breadth: 20.6 m. Full draft: 7.52 m. Full displacement: 12, 467. 9 tons. Economical speed: 18 knots. Cruising radius: 18, 000 nm. Self-sustaining capacity: 120 days. Berths: 305. Main engine power: 9, 000 hp × 2. The main instruments and equipment of labs include satellite cloud-picture receiver, fish finder, gravimeter, geomorphologic apparatus, geomagnetometer and radar wave meter, etc. The communications and navigation aids include navigation radar, direction finder, Loran A/C, Omega, electric compass, log, depthometer, satellite communication station and MX 200 combined satellite navigation, etc.

Scientific Research Vessel of "Xiangyanghong 10" Designed by MARIC Put into Use

n March 28th, the scientific research vessel of new "Xiangyanghong 10" designed by MARIC offshore engineering department is officially delivered to National Ocean Survey Fleet in Guangzhou. The new "Xiangyanghong 10" is a modernized ocean scientific comprehensive research vessel meeting with requirements of unlimited navigation area and possessing global navigation capability, integrating multidisciplinary science, multi-function with multi-technology as a whole and meeting the deep ocean science interdisciplinary research needs. The vessel can provide offshore mobile laboratories and test platform for national deep sea and ocean basic scientific research and high-tech research.
